Pollution, climate change, and short sighted development proposals are putting tremendous pressure on the river and its inhabitants, which are still recovering from centuries of abuse.

For nearly sixty years, Riverkeeper members like you have stood arm in arm with us as we've fought to protect and restore the Hudson River. And that work has paid off - water quality has improved, some fish populations are showing hopeful signs of return, and the Hudson Valley is now a destination for recreation throughout the year.

But without continued vigilance, new threats could reverse the progress we've made together.

That's why our team is still on the case - patrolling the river, testing water quality, advocating for continual improvements, and taking polluters to court.
